JOB SUMMARY
RockawayMore is looking for a seasoned PR powerhouse to take the lead in shaping media narratives, building strong industry relationships, and driving impactful PR campaigns for our clients in the food, beverage, and hospitality space. As a Senior Public Relations Specialist, you’ll be the go-to strategist and media connector, overseeing national and regional pitching efforts, mentoring junior team members, and managing high-level client deliverables. You’ll play a key role in crisis management, event planning, and editorial strategy, ensuring our clients receive top-tier exposure across platforms. DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute high-impact PR strategies, manage editorial calendars, and support senior leadership in implementing campaigns and events that drive client success.
• Pitch national, regional, and local media across broadcast, print, radio, and online platforms, including calendar listings, to secure top-tier coverage.
• Expand and strengthen corporate, media, and vendor networks, building lasting relationships with editors, journalists, and influencers to amplify brand reach.
• Craft compelling written materials, including biographies, fact sheets, press releases, media alerts, and seasonal round-up releases, ensuring messaging is sharp, strategic, and aligned with client goals.
• Serve as the primary client contact, managing day-to-day communications, coordinating and updating agendas, strategy plans and ensuring the seamless execution of PR deliverables with clear action items.
• Lead influencer outreach and oversee PR-driven campaigns that build buzz and maximize brand impact.
• Plan and execute client events, from media dinners and influencer activations to high-profile press previews, managing all logistics for flawless execution.
• Oversee crisis management efforts, providing strategic solutions and maintaining brand reputation under pressure.
• Maintain meticulous organization across all client documents, media tracking, and reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee junior staff and interns, providing guidance, professional development, and support while ensuring alignment with agency and client goals.
• Serve as a key liaison between junior team members and senior leadership, offering strategic oversight and reporting to upper management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
• Actively participate in agency meetings, calls, and team-building initiatives, traveling as needed for client engagements, events, TV shoots, and festivals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in public relations, with a strong focus on hospitality, food, or beverage industries.
• Exceptional client relationship management, with proven experience navigating crisis communications and problem-solving under pressure.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality materials on deadline.
• Established media relationships with local, regional, and national publications, with a keen interest in expanding expertise in key markets such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Alexandria/D.C.
• Hands-on experience planning and executing events, from press engagements to large-scale activations.
• Ability to travel as needed for client events, TV shoots, and media opportunities, with flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.
• Interest in social media and digital marketing, with the ability to integrate these elements into PR strategies.
• Proficiency in Google Suite products (Sheets, Docs, etc.) or equivalent tools.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts seamlessly.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings and media interactions.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working independently or in a hybrid model.
• Ability to receive feedback and apply constructive guidance in a way that drives impact and growth.
• Adaptable and proactive, able to stay focused and effective in an ever-changing landscape.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
